Our sand candles are crafted from 100% plant-based RSPO palm wax. This unique, sand-like texture is non-toxic, clean-burning, and designed to melt slowly.

The burn time depends entirely on how you design your candle! A single 2-inch wick typically burns for about 10 to 12 hours. Because Candella is a refillable system, once a wick burns out, you simply replace it, top up your sand wax, and your candle will theoretically last forever.

Sustainability is at the core of Candella. RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification ensures that our palm wax is sourced ethically, without contributing to deforestation, habitat destruction, or human exploitation. It guarantees that our wax and wicks are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and fully biodegradable.

You can use as many as you like if your vessel is wide, which is the magic of sand candles! For best results, we recommend keeping wicks at least 2 inches apart from each other and 1 inch away from the edge of your container. This prevents the melt pools from merging too quickly and ensures the glass doesn't overheat.

Refreshing your Candella candle is incredibly easy. Once you extinguish the flame, allow the small pool of melted wax around the wick to cool and harden (it only takes a few minutes). Simply lift out the hardened wax top along with the used wick, then recycle it or reuse it again.

Candella Pro Tip:
Don’t throw away the hardened wax top. Simply grind or break it into finer pieces, then add it back into your sand wax to use again.

You can turn almost anything into a candle, provided it is heat-resistant and non-flammable. We recommend glass vases, ceramic bowls, sealed concrete vessels, or metal tins. Ensure your container is at least 3 inches wide to keep the flame safely away from the edges. Note: Avoid using wood, plastic, or highly porous materials.

simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oils or candle-safe fragrance oils directly to the sand wax before you light it. Drop the oil in a circle just outside where you plan to place the wick. Avoid dropping oil directly onto the wick itself, as this can cause it to burn improperly.
